About
Kaela Hansen is a Canadian football player and co-host of the One Soccer Nation Podcast. For Kaela, co-hosting is more than just a role, it's a platform where she amplifies the voices of fellow football players, allowing them to share their journeys, challenges, and career aspirations with a broader audience. Her ultimate goal is to create an authentic space for candid conversations about the sport, its struggles, and its triumphs.
Kaela's professional journey began in 2022 with ZFK Spartak Subotica in the Serbian Women's Super League, where she quickly made an impact. She scored her first two career goals, started every match, and played a key role in helping her team secure the 2023 Serbian Women's Super League title and League Cup championship. Kaela also competed in the UEFA Women's Champions League, advancing with Spartak to the second round before a hard-fought exit against FC Rosengård. She has since continued to excel in Finland's Kansallinen Liiga, the top tier of women's football.
At just 16, Kaela joined the Canadian Youth National Program under coach Bev Priestman, representing Canada at the U17 World Cup in Jordan. After four formative years with Whitecaps FC / Canada Soccer's Regional EXCEL Program, Kaela pursued her education and football career in the United States, earning a degree in Education and Human Sciences and playing five successful collegiate seasons with the University of Kansas. She holds the program record for most minutes played and captained the team. She also earned a spot on the All-Academic Big 12 Conference List for four consecutive years.
