Marketplace spoke with Kareem Rae, CEO of One Soccer Nation, for a story on the surge of interest and investment in Major League Soccer.
The 2026 World Cup Effect
Rae said that while Lionel Messi has been good for the soccer business, "the 2026 World Cup is 100 times that." The United States will co-host the tournament with Mexico and Canada, which Rae noted could attract investors who might be priced out of the European leagues.
